How we work

No sales targets, no upsells, and no script. Here is what being local actually changes, how we price, what our work is guaranteed for, and what we are not.
Local

What local actually means here.

You explain the problem once. There is no call center, no ticket number, and no queue to sit in while a case is escalated.

We are on call outside business hours. Problems do not keep to a nine-to-five, and a shop with a service counter cannot help you at 2am. We can. If something needs doing late or overnight, say so in your request and we will tell you honestly whether we can be there.

We work in Pemberton Township and the communities around it — Pemberton Borough, Browns Mills, Country Lakes, Presidential Lakes and Leisuretown. Pricing is the same across the whole area. There is no distance surcharge, and no part of it costs more than another.

Remote help is available where the problem allows it, and it is the cheapest and fastest way to get sorted. Where a job genuinely needs hands on the hardware, we will say so rather than burn an hour of your money finding out.

Scope

Most of it is ordinary computer work.

Speeding up a machine that has slowed to a crawl. Clearing out viruses and malware. Reinstalling Windows cleanly when it is past saving. Setting up printers, networks, and new computers, phones and tablets. Recovering files. Backups. And working out why something that worked last week does not work today.

There is hardware work too, and most of it never makes a list: cracked or dead laptop screens, tired drives swapped for SSDs, extra memory, power supplies, cooling fans and water cooling, motherboards — and the one almost nobody thinks to book, a desktop that has not been opened and cleared of dust in five years.

The services page covers what we are asked for most often. It is not a complete list. If what you need is not on it, ask — call or text (833) 247-TECH, or send a request. It is usually something we do.

Pricing

What you pay is agreed before we start.

Prices are published on the pricing page, not quoted after the fact. Where a price is a starting point rather than a fixed figure, you get the real number before any chargeable work begins.

We diagnose first, tell you what it will cost, and you decide. A diagnosis you choose not to act on is not a failed repair — it is a completed answer, and you are free to take it elsewhere.

Where parts are needed, they are quoted separately and before anything is bought.

Guarantee

Our work is guaranteed for 90 days.

No fix, no fee. If we cannot fix the problem, you do not pay for the attempt. That is decided before we leave, not argued about afterwards.

And the work we do is guaranteed for 90 days. If something we worked on is not right — a setting missed, a configuration that did not hold, the same fault coming back — we return and put it right at no charge. Remotely where that is possible, in person where it is not, and as many times as it takes. It is not a refund window. It is a commitment to finish the job.

The guarantee covers our work, not the equipment: parts and hardware are covered by their own manufacturer’s warranty. Data recovery is the one service where an outcome cannot be promised in advance, and that page explains why. The full terms are in our Terms of Service.

Advice

Some of what we end up telling people.

We do not sell computers, so there is nothing we gain by telling you that you need a new one.

  • Sometimes a repair does not make sense. When the parts cost more than the machine is worth, we will say so rather than quote you for it.
  • A better router will not fix a slow line. Out here the speed reaching the house is often the real limit, and no equipment inside the house changes what is coming down the line.
  • Above the fireplace is usually too high. It is the spot almost everybody asks for, and it puts the screen well above eye level for anyone sitting down.
  • Some printers are not worth fixing. A set of cartridges costing more than the printer did is the point where the honest advice is to stop.
  • Most tutoring gets done in the first hour. There is a one-hour minimum, and most people need less than they booked.
  • A backup is far cheaper than a recovery. Setting one up costs a fraction of getting files off a drive that has already failed.

Each of these is set out in full on the relevant service page.

Honest limits

What we are not.

We would rather set expectations than manage disappointment.

  • We do not publish fixed hours, and we cannot guarantee a response time. That is the trade for being reachable at odd hours rather than only between nine and five. Say if something is urgent and we will tell you honestly whether we can get to it.
  • We do not sell hardware. Where parts are needed they are quoted separately, before anything is bought.
  • We cannot promise an outcome on data recovery. It is the one service where the honest answer is that nobody knows until the drive has been assessed.
